Pressure washing (also referred to as power washing) is the application of high pressure water spray to various surfaces that need to be cleared of dirt, irritants, and other contaminants.
Most surfaces can be pressure washed, including concrete, wood, stucco, etc.
However, the necessary PSI settings vary depending on the type surface, age, and condition, so it’s best left to professionals to determine the correct settings.
The amount of time it takes to clean windows varies based on a few factors. Size, location, and the number of windows at the home or business will affect how long the overall job takes. We’re happy to provide approximate completion times when giving an estimate.
The time needed between pressure washing depends on the material itself and the surrounding environment. Typically, an annual cleaning is adequate, but keeping an eye on the appearance of surfaces can help you determine when pressure washing may be necessary.
PSI = “Pounds per Square Inch” and relates to the amount of pressure being applied to treated surface. Using a PSI that is too low can result in an inadequate result, whereas PSI that is too high can damage the surface.
GPM = “Gallons per Minute” and pertains to the flushing of surface contaminates.
The short answer is yes, of course you can try to tackle pressure washing on your own. The results will likely vary however, as professionals use typically use industrial-strength equipment, specialized chemicals for pre-treatment, and have more knowledge about the correct pressure settings in regards to the type of material being treated.
